27 november 1997 Dear Mr Boulter, Thank you very much for your letter as the reaction on my fax messages of last 19 and 20 November. I have the impression that you are not quite aware about my position. I have been the partner of The Princess of Wales from 28 August 1996 till her fatal death on 31 August of this year. In April I appointed Her director of my company in England. During Her funeral Her brother Charles pointed out that Diana had found a new direction in Her life. In the book about Her life of Andrew Morton you can read that My Lady was regularly speaking about Her Quixotic Quest. Therefore I proposed Her to start together the Family Company Van der Heyden Spencer as from last 28 September. The department Store of Harrods had to become one of the participants of our company. Princess Diana did not need a royal title, because I already gave Her an IMPERIAL TITLE on a complete legal basis. That is my position. That is also the reason that I offer you to read the sermon of Her sister Lady Jane Fellowes in your service. You may understand that it will be very difficult to me to go and stand in a queue during a long time. I may presume that you also would not oblige Queen Elizabeth to stand in a queue when she visits King's College. Nevertheless I really like to be in one of your services and arranged my residence in England already during Christmas. I have the honour to transmit you herewith some lines of the letters that I wrote to Princess Diana during the last part of Her life. I can also state that the song Candle in the Wind of ELTON JOHN has been called after a candle that I lighted for Princess Diana on 1 August 1996 in Canterbury Cathedral.
